KRS and its clients: Partners in success

Our clients include some of South Africa’s best-known brands and companies, from SANParks through Matrix Vehicle Recovery to HomeChoice.

We have worked closely with SANParks over a number of years to understand the functions and special requirements of their business. In 2004 we completed the design and implementation of a tailor-made, comprehensive hospitality management suite called Roomseeker™ to manage all SANParks's back-office processes.

Roomseeker™ has increased SANParks's organisational productivity and customer service through quicker provision of information and activation of reservations and payments. KRS also has successfully implemented service-oriented architecture (SOA) enabling Roomseeker™ to be accessed via SANParks real-time online reservation system. The system has relieved pressure on the SANParks call centre and is empowering park-visitors to make reservations quickly and easily at a time that suits them.

Roomseeker™ can easily be customised for use by other large enterprises outside of the hospitality industry.

WinQS is a software package for Quantity Surveyors, developed by KRS for ACE Solutions. It is used by over 3500 Quantity Surveyors, Cost Engineers, Government Departments, Consulting Engineers and Contractors in more than 20 counties.

WinQS includes sophisticated libraries of building components, from which the quantity surveyor can produce a detailed Bill of Quantities as required by the building trade. It also manages the Tender process from suppliers, as well as progress payments during building operations.

The WinQS package was originally written in Borland Delphi, but is now being ported to Microsoft .Net and SQL Server 2005.

Matrix runs our Debtors package, with numerous customisations to accommodate the tracking contract data per vehicle. Their automated month-end debit order process handles over 100,000 debit orders worth many millions of rand, and reconciles unpaid and rejected debit orders as returned by the banks.

Lead management is handled by the new web-based system we developed for Matrix, from initial client inquiry to the instruction at the tracking unit installer for a signal test. Email leads are also queued into the system, and join the workflow for follow up. Some 200 installers and fitment centers across South Africa use the system daily.

We provide a fully outsourced development facility for Homechoice. Since taking over in-house-developed Delphi code, we have refactored the code for stability and performance and developed enhancements including a collections module, new receipting processes and a warehouse and distribution module. The system is written in Delphi against a Sybase database. Replication is used to share data between head office and the main warehouse in Airport Industria.
